Patients could receive testing for COVID-19 at on-campus drive- and walk-thru sites for the first time Monday.

GW Hospital, Medical Faculty Associates and University officials partnered to offer appointment-only coronavirus screenings between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. MFA officials said patients need to present identification and an order for testing to health care professionals upon entering the sites.

A walk-thru site is available at 22nd and I streets, while patients can access a drive-thru facility at 20th and H streets, according to a GW release. Patients will receive results from their health care provider in five to seven days after testing, the release states.

GW Hospital officials have also set up a tent outside the hospital to screen patients for COVID-19, and the facility cut elective surgeries in the wake of the pandemic.

Here are some sights from the site’s first day, showing images of patients receiving tests and health care professionals operating the areas.
