A student was hit by a car on H Street between 21st and 22nd streets. The incident is the second this year in which a student was hit at the same location.

A car hit a student crossing H Street between 21st and 22nd streets Tuesday afternoon, University spokeswoman Crystal Nosal said.

“A student was struck by a slow moving vehicle in front of District House and sustained a minor injury,” Nosal said. “The driver of the striking vehicle stayed at the scene of the crash.”

Sean Hickman, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department, said an MPD officer responded to the incident.

“Preliminary information suggests that it is not of a serious nature as major crash has not been called, nor has D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services,” Hickman said in an email.

A car hit a student in the same section of H Street in June 2018. Officials installed a 50-foot-wide crosswalk to the street last October after students voiced concerns about safety crossing between Kogan Plaza and District House.

Another car struck a student in the crosswalk in April.
