Officials launch website to track coronavirus

Officials have established a website to track advisories and release information about the coronavirus.

Students who have recently traveled to places with widespread cases of coronavirus or who could have come into contact with an infected person should contact the Colonial Health Center, an email sent to students Wednesday states. The site will be updated as information about the virus – also known as COVID-19 – comes to light, according to the email.

“Additionally, the site contains all the information and frequently asked questions about COVID-19 that have been previously posted to Campus Advisories,” the email states. “We ask our community members to refer to this website for regular updates.”

The website breaks down common symptoms of and facts about the virus and details how students can prevent COVID-19. The site provides links to resources with information about coronavirus testing sites, where the virus has spread and how the University has responded to the virus in the last two months.

Officials canceled study abroad programs to China and Italy last month following reports of outbreaks of the virus in both countries. The email states that officials will continue to message to the community as the situation evolves.
