Senior point guard DJ Williams will transfer out of the men’s basketball program.

Senior point guard DJ Williams will transfer out of the men’s basketball program after spending one season with the Colonials, CBS sports reporter Jon Rothstein tweeted Thursday.

Williams started in 31 games and averaged 33.5 minutes per game. He made the most of his court time, leading the team in scoring with 13.7 points per game and owning the team-high 21 double-digit scoring games. His 6-foot-7-inch frame added height to GW’s roster, averaging 4.7 rebounds per game.

The announcement follows a string of transfers since former head coach Maurice Joseph was booted from the program last March. Marcus Littles, Terry Nolan Jr. and Shandon Brown all transferred out of the program this offseason.

William’s departure will leave a hole for newly instated head coach Jamion Christian to fill in GW’s offense. So far, Christian has added six new players to the team, including guards Shawn Walker Jr., Jameer Nelson Jr. and Amir Harris.
