Broken water main causes water outage near Smith Center

D.C. Water and Sewer Authority officials reported an emergency water outage for customers near 22nd Street between F and G streets because of a broken water main Tuesday morning.

Construction crews from D.C. Water are repairing a six-inch broken water main that may impact traffic on 22nd between F and G streets, as well as on F Street between 22nd and 23rd streets and cause water outages to customers in the surrounding areas, according to D.C. Water’s website. Officials have not published a timeline for the completion of repairs.

“Some customers in the area may experience a disruption in water service,” officials said in a release.
