Interim University President Mark Wrighton said he is positive for COVID-19 at a Foggy Bottom and West End Advisory Neighborhood Commission meeting Wednesday.

Wrighton called into the meeting virtually and told commissioners he experienced mild symptoms after contracting COVID-19 at least 10 days ago.

“I’ve had very mild symptoms, but the protocol here is that I remain isolated,” Wrighton said during the meeting. “That isolation should end tomorrow. That will be more than 10 days of isolation, and I feel great.”

University spokesperson Tim Pierce declined to comment.

On-campus COVID-19 cases have remained around two percent the past week.

Henry Huvos contributed reporting.

This post has been updated to include Pierce’s decline to comment.
