Photo essay: A revived and desolate campus, side by side

GW’s campus has been desolate for nearly a year and a half, but in the two weeks that students, faculty and staff have been back, life has been restored to the community.

In March 2020 when officials moved all operations online, a now-graduated Hatchet staff photographer, Eric Lee, stayed behind and documented campus deserted. Here is a glimpse of how today’s bustling scenes on campus compare to empty, quiet life near the start of the pandemic:
