GSPM director among finalists for dean of public service school at University of Arkansas

Lara Brown, the director of the Graduate School of Political Management, is a finalist for the position of dean of the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

University of Arkansas System President Donald Bobbitt said Brown is one of three candidates for the position, and each will visit the university’s campus in the coming weeks, the report states. Brown has served as the director of GSPM since July 2016, when she stepped into the role as an interim replacement to former director Mark Kennedy, who became president of the University of North Dakota.

Brown was named permanent director the following year and has led the school since.

Officials at the University of Arkansas are looking to replace Skip Rutherford, who held the dean position since 2006 and retired late last month, according to the Democrat-Gazette.
