Park visitors can file one-hour reservations on a first-come, first-served basis from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at a cost of $20 per hour of use.

The public can now reserve fields around the National Mall for recreational use through a new online registration system operated by the National Park Service.

Reservations for 24 athletic fields around the Mall, including 12 softball and 12 mixed use fields, are available from July 8 to July 30 on the NPS reservation website. The website shows that online users can reserve time slots up to a month in advance with new reservations opening each day at 10 a.m., meaning openings for July 31 will open Thursday morning.

Park visitors can file one-hour reservations on a first-come, first-served basis from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at a cost of $20 per hour of use, according to a DCist report. The report states that the online reservation system replaces a previous lottery system used for the National Mall fields.
