Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., will remain in the GW Hospital for five to seven days as she recovers, the Detroit Free Press reported.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) underwent a knee replacement surgery at the GW Hospital Wednesday, according to a statement from Hoyer’s spokesperson.

Katie Grant Drew, Hoyer’s communications director, said in a statement that Joshua Campbell, an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, performed the surgery Wednesday morning on Hoyer’s left knee. The spokesperson said the surgery was “successful” and Hoyer will work from home in St. Mary’s County, Maryland, as he begins physical therapy.

“He looks forward to returning to work at the U.S. Capitol as soon as possible,” Drew said.

A spokesperson from the GW Hospital did not immediately return a request for comment.
