Officials announced a new permanent director of the Disability Support Services in an email to students Friday.

Maggie Butler, a certified rehabilitation counselor, will replace Alisa Major, who has served as the interim director since last February. Butler, who was previously the director of the Office on Disability Issues in Psychology at the American Psychological Association, has past experience in accessibility, inclusion and other topics related to disability, including identity, gender and race, according to her University profile.

“Maggie will officially join our team on Tuesday, February 16 and brings with her a plethora of experiences centered on accessibility and disability inclusion across universities,” the email states.
