Weekend Outlook – Shop at the annual Downtown Holiday Market

With course registration out of the way, take some time for yourself this weekend before Thanksgiving break. Sit in on a virtual event with cast members from “The Umbrella Academy,” make fall crafts as you relax with tea and snacks and get into the holiday spirit.

Chelsea Film Festival Talks TV series with cast members of “The Umbrella Academy”

The Chelsea Film Festival will host a discussion with cast members from the Netflix original show “The Umbrella Academy.” Actress Ingrid Jean-Baptiste will co-host the event, which will feature six cast members of the show. The conversation will focus on the younger cast members and their experiences filming on and off the set.

Livestreamed on the Chelsea Film Festival Facebook page, noon to 1 p.m. EST. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite with a “pay-what-you-can” donation.

Virtual afternoon tea at Dumbarton House

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at a virtual event hosted by Dumbarton House. Attendees are encouraged to make a cup of tea and cookies, chat with Dumbarton House staff and make crafts. After registering for the event, you’ll be sent a list of items needed to participate in the event, as well as a Zoom link to join.

Tickets range from $18 for Dumbarton House members to $20 for general admission, 1 to 3 p.m. EST.

Sunday
Downtown Holiday Market

D.C.’s annual Downtown Holiday Market will open this weekend, marking its 16th year. This outdoor shopping village will include small and local businesses, food vendors and holiday decorations. This year’s retail lineup is set to feature a number of Black-owned businesses from the D.C. area. Per COVID-19 regulations, the outdoor shopping area will include wider aisles to enforce social distancing, and shoppers will be required to wear masks.

F Street NW between 7th and 9th Streets NW, noon to 8 p.m. No tickets or registration necessary for entry.
