Sophomore Karina Ochoa Berkley, the captain of the Mock Trial team and a Hatchet opinions writer, created a petition last month in hopes of reinstating the pre-law advising position, which was eliminated amid budget cuts. Parth Kotak, the president of the Pre-Law Student Association and The Hatchet’s managing editor, said he plans to create an alumni database to create a network for students who are interested in law school.
