Thousands of people flocked to the White House Friday to protest the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died while in police custody earlier this month.

The demonstration is one of at least 30 that have transpired in the past week in response to Floyd’s death, during which protesters chanted “I can’t breath” and “black lives matter.” An officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota was arrested and charged Friday with third-degree murder and manslaughter following his death.
