Crime log: Man snatches shoe from student in library

GW Police Department officers observed a man unaffiliated with the University throwing fake punches at a male student. GWPD issued the man a bar notice.

Unlawful Entry

Shenkman Hall (Food Court)

Closed Case

A GWPD officer noticed a previously barred man in the Shenkman Hall food court. GWPD arrested the man and issued him another bar notice. Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the scene and transported the subject to the Second District police station for processing.

A female student reported that someone stole some of her packages from Mail and Package Services. GWPD officers learned that the subject obtained the packages because she had the same name as the female student. The packages were found ripped open.

A female staff member reported that someone broke into her office and stole her cellphone and other personal belongings.

GWPD responded to 7-Eleven for a report of a man unaffiliated with the University who stole cigarettes from the store and threatened 7-Eleven staff. MPD officers responded to the scene but couldn’t find the subject.

A female student reported that while she was studying in the library a man snatched her shoe and fled the scene. GWPD searched the area but couldn’t locate the subject.

GWPD responded for a report that a man unaffiliated with GW was performing indecent acts on a bench outside of Thurston Hall. GWPD issued the man a bar notice and arrested him. MPD officers responded to the scene and transported the man to the Second District police station for processing.
