Men and women’s cross country announces 2019 schedule

Men and women’s cross country head coach Terry Weir unveiled the 2019 meet lineup for both programs Thursday, according to a press release.

The Colonials’ regular season will consist of four meets before entering the postseason.

The teams will kick off the season at the Mount St. Mary’s Duals on Aug. 30 for the fifth consecutive season. In last year’s meet, the men took first and the women finished second.

The teams will then head to George Mason for the George Mason Invitational on Sept. 13. The meet will give the Colonials a preview of the A-10 Championship course, which Weir called “very challenging.”

The squads travel to Bethlehem, PA. on Oct. 5 for the Paul Short Run for the fifth consecutive year. The men placed fifth in the Brown 8 kilometer race while the women placed seventh in the Open 6 kilometer and No. 21 in the Gold 6 kilometer.

The programs wrap up regular season play at the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 19 for the sixth straight season. The men finished 10 of 20 teams last season and the women placed 13 of 22.

The Colonials’ postseason begins in November with the A-10 Championship, followed by the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional and the NCAA Championship.
