Man arrested after threatening to kill GW Hospital staff

Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested a man for destruction of property and threats to commit a felony.

At about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Brandon Atwater shattered a glass window at the GW Hospital and threatened to kill hospital staff members, according to an MPD report. MPD officers responded to the scene and arrested Atwater for felony threats and destruction of property, the report states.

Atwater, who was in custody of the Department of Corrections while being treated at the hospital, was then transported to the Second District police station for processing, according to the report.
