Person breaks into Flower Child, steals object resembling cash register

A person broke into a restaurant near campus and stole a large object resembling a cash register Monday, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.

The report states that an MPD officer witnessed someone pace back and forth in front of Flower Child, a fast-casual health food restaurant, at about 1:30 a.m. She then observed the subject break the glass door at the entrance of the restaurant and enter the building, according to the report.

The subject left the restaurant holding a “large electrical object resembling a register,” the report states.

A detective from MPD arrived on scene and interviewed one witness, according to the report. The witness and the reporting officer said they last saw the subject heading eastbound on the 2100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, the report states.

The case is open.
