With a simple menu and all prices less than $10, Tasty Kabob is a great and often underrated option for a bite between classes.

Location: H Street between 21st and 22nd streets
Readers’ pick: Rolling Cow

While Foggy Bottom’s streets are lined with a slew of food truck options, Tasty Kabob’s authentic food, generous portions and affordable price points make it The Hatchet’s pick for best food truck.

With a simple menu and all prices less than $10, Tasty Kabob is a great and often underrated option for a bite between classes. For your main dish, you can choose between meats like chicken and lamb or opt for an extra vegetable side. The flavor-packed side options include a daily rotation of chickpeas, spinach, potatoes, pita and okra.

The chicken and lamb options are served with yellow rice or over an iceberg lettuce salad with tomatoes and a choice of side for only $9. The dishes are drizzled in a creamy and tangy white sauce to seamless blend all components of the dish. Diners also have the choice of making their dish mild, medium or spicy, allowing them to perfect the dish to their own personal palate.

Tasty Kabob also offers specials throughout the week. On Wednesdays, the food truck dishes out a beef meatball kabob ($10), which comes with rice, salad and a side. Later in the week on Fridays, the truck offers chicken and mushrooms ($10), served with rice, salad and a side of your choice. The chicken and mushroom dish is served in a tangy, creamy sauce and topped off with a drizzle of hot sauce.

The food truck can be spotted from afar with its bold green color scheme embellished with a playful sunflower. Tasty Kabob also accepts GWorld as a form of payment, making it the perfect option for busy students on campus looking for an affordable and filling meal.
