President Donald Trump is expected to nominate a graduate of Mount Vernon Seminary and College as the next ambassador to the United Nations.

Reports surfaced across multiple news networks Thursday night that Trump will nominate Heather Nauert, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of State and a former Fox News anchor, on Friday. She would replace Nikki Haley, who is leaving her position at the end of the month.

Nauert received her bachelor’s degree from the Mount Vernon Seminary and College, which merged with GW in 1999 and is now known as the Mount Vernon Campus. She earned a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and has worked under the Trump administration since April 2017.
