Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was admitted to the GW Hospital with three broken ribs Thursday morning.

Ginsburg fell in her office Wednesday evening and started to experience “discomfort” that night. Doctors at the hospital found three broken ribs on her left side Thursday morning, The New York Times reported.

Ginsburg also broke two ribs in 2012 but did not miss any work obligations, Reuters reported. She is also a cancer survivor and returned to work after heart surgery in 2012.

Ginsburg has often visited campus to speak with students, most recently in a September event where she discussed issues of diversity and gender equality in government.

GW Hospital spokeswoman Susan Griffiths declined to comment, saying “we do not disclose information.”
