MPD arrests woman for DUI after car accident in front of Thurston Hall

A woman was arrested Saturday after she crashed her car into a vehicle parked in front of Thurston Hall, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.

At about 9:08 p.m., an MPD officer responded to a report of an accident. A witness told officers that Arely Alcocer Aguila, 24, was traveling south on 19th Street in a Toyota Corolla when she struck the rear of a vehicle parked in front of Thurston Hall, the report states.

Aguila showed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence, according to the report.

MPD officers transported Aguila to the Second District police station for processing, where she refused to give two breath samples. She was charged with a DUI and a DUI refusal, the report states.
