Small forward makes second men’s basketball commit

Small forward Jamison Battle committed to play for the men’s basketball program for the 2019-20 season, Battle announced on Twitter Monday night.

“I want to thank everyone who has supported me through this journey, especially my coaches,” Battle said in the tweet. “With that being said I would like to announce my commitment to George Washington University.”

The 6-foot-7-inch senior from DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis is the second player in a week to join the Class of 2023. Forward Chase Paar, who hails from Ellicott City, Md., committed to the men’s basketball program last week.

Battle will likely fill the team’s final scholarship slot for the 2019-20 season if all eligible players return to the team.

The Colonials will return eight players from last year’s active roster for the 2018-19 season. Senior guards Armel Potter and DJ Williams are eligible to play this year after sitting out last season because of transfer rules.
