Woman sexually assaulted near GW Hospital

Police are looking for a male suspect who sexually assaulted a woman in a Foggy Bottom building last weekend.

District authorities said the incident occurred just before 11 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of I Street NW, one block from Ross Hall and the GW Hospital. Footage from a security camera shows the suspect approaching the woman and assaulting her while trying to take off her clothes, The Washington Post reported Friday.

Police are now searching for the suspect, a roughly 5-foot-10 white man between the ages of 25 and 35. He faces a third-degree sex abuse charge, The Post reported.

It is unclear whether the incident, which is still in the “preliminary stages of investigation,” is related to several other reports of sexual abuse in Georgetown and Dupont Circle over the past few months, D.C. Police spokeswoman Karimah Bilal told The Post.

A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information related to the incident, according to The Post.
