A patient at GW Hospital filed a police report claiming a staff member stole money from his wallet when he briefly left his room Saturday.
At about 3:15 p.m., the patient was using the bathroom in his hospital room and said he heard a rummaging sound outside the door. Upon re-entering the room, the man checked his wallet and noticed $1,000 in cash was missing, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.
The man said he believes a hospital staff member stole the money from his wallet, the report states.
