Crime log: Male student reports room was vandalized with soy sauce

GW Police Department officers on patrol observed two students – one male and one female – on the rooftop of Mitchell Hall. Both students, who are underage, admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages. The students passed a series of field sobriety tests and GWPD asked them to leave the area.

GWPD officers responded to a report of a male individual in his mid-20s who was previously barred from campus. Officers made contact with him outside Lerner Hall, reminded him that he was still barred from campus and sent him away.

A male student reported to GWPD that his bedroom had been vandalized and two shirts were missing from his closet. Officers observed soy sauce coating the complainant’s walls and a hole in the drywall.

A student reported to GWPD that she heard her window break while she was inside her residence hall room. Upon inspection, officers found shattered glass on the floor but did not find anything inside the room that could have been thrown from outside to break the window.

GWPD officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male student. EMeRG assessed the student and transported him to the GW Hospital emergency room for medical treatment.

A female student reported to Gelman Library staff members that her calculator was missing from her bag. The staff members filed a report with GWPD.

5/14/2018 – 1:35 p.m.
The Dakota
Closed Case

GWPD officers responded to an activated smoke detector in The Dakota. Upon arrival, the officers smelled burning marijuana from inside the room. Housing staff conducted an administrative search, which yielded alcohol and drugs.
