D.C. FEMS responded to Francis Scott Key Hall late Friday after a small fire started in a residence hall room.

Francis Scott Key Hall was evacuated Friday night after a small fire started in a residence hall room.

Six fire trucks responded to the residence hall at about 9:30 p.m. after a fire broke out in a seventh-floor room, Vito Maggiolo, a spokesman for D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services, said. No one was injured in the incident.

Maggiolo said the the fire was mostly out by the time D.C. FEMS responded to the scene. Fire crews worked to clear smoke from the residence hall.

FSK residents were allowed to reenter the building shortly after 10 p.m.

A fire investigator was en route to the scene to determine the cause of the fire, Maggiolo said.
