Advocates hold vigil for sexual assault survivors outside Education Department

Sexual assault survivors and allies gathered at the U.S. Department of Education Thursday to attend a candlelight vigil in a demonstration of solidarity with survivors of sexual violence on college campuses.

More than 150 victims, parents and allies attended to share their stories and support those affected. The vigil also served as a protest of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’ decision to rescind Obama-era guidelines on Title IX enforcement.
