Two sexual fondlings reported on H Street

Two sexual fondling incidents were reported at H Street NW between 21st and 23rd streets, according to a GW alert sent at 7:20 p.m. Monday.

The suspect, a Hispanic man riding a white bike, was last seen in the area at 2:30 a.m. An investigation into the incidents is ongoing, according to the alert.

He was between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and between 150 and 160 pounds. The man was wearing a baseball cap, a dark graphic T-shirt and shorts, according to the alert.

University spokeswoman Maralee Csellar said late this afternoon that a second incident was brought to the University’s attention matching the same suspect description and that the University decided to pull the security footage and send the alert to “spread the word to the campus community.”

The alert said the suspect was last seen at 2:30 a.m. “yesterday morning,” but Csellar said it was Monday morning.

The alert stated that people should not confront the suspect and should call the University Police Department and the Metropolitan Police Department if they see him.
