Metro will increase peak and off-peak fares and begin a new operating schedule this weekend.

Farragut West and two surrounding Metro stations will be shut down this weekend for renovations as many students move onto campus for the coming academic year.

Trains will not pick up passengers at the Farragut West and McPherson Square stations or the lower level of the Metro Center station, where crews will replace ceiling tiles, according to Metro’s website. The stations, which are on the orange, blue and silver lines, will close between 7 a.m. Saturday and closing Sunday.

Passengers can take free shuttle buses between Foggy Bottom and Federal Triangle stations, which will stop outside Farragut West, McPherson Square and Metro Center stations. Separate buses will also travel between Foggy Bottom, Metro Center and Federal Triangle, according to Metro.

Travel times are expected to be 10 minutes longer for each station stop on the shuttle.
