Central Michel Richard offers a yellow tomato gazpacho ($16.50) on their menu. The dish is topped with burrata, a creamy mozzarella cheese, instead of the typical sour cream.

Central Michel Richard is expertly placed right in the middle of D.C., so everyone in the city has easy access to their unique take on French food.

The convivial restaurant offers a variety of classic French bistro dishes like French onion soup ($10) and hanger steak au poivre ($28.50), while also shaking it up with a fusion of American and French food with dishes like their fried chicken ($26).

The bistro, located at 1001 Pennsylvania Ave., is filled with warm woods and drum lighting to create a cozy atmosphere and the space is flanked by large mirrors that frame the restaurant.

Along with their classic French foods, the restaurant offers a variety of other signature dishes from other parts of the world. One of Central’s most inventive dishes is their yellow tomato gazpacho ($16.50). The most compelling part of this dish is that it’s topped with burrata, a creamy mozzarella cheese, instead of the typical sour cream. This creative replacement adds satisfying creaminess to the dish.

The pepper and garlic in this soup add a bit of a kick, while the yellow tomato and cucumber add a cool flavor to help quell the heat. This perfect combination of flavors will have you licking the bowl clean.

The yellow tomato also adds color and brightness to the gazpacho, which is yet another unique way that Central puts their spin on this Spanish dish.

The soup is served the Andalusian way, so it’s blended thin. This brings all of the seasoning together to create a melodic symphony of flavor.

This twist on a French bistro, located directly across the street from Trump International Hotel, will make you wish you were sitting beside the Eiffel Tower instead of the Trump Tower affiliate.

Central Michel Richard is open for lunch on weekdays, dinner Monday through Saturday and brunch on Sunday. The prices for dinner main courses range from $19.50 to $41.
