Track work closes two Metro stations near Foggy Bottom this weekend

The Metro won’t be running between Foggy Bottom and Federal Triangle stations this weekend as two orange, blue and silver line stops shut down for repairs.

Farragut West and McPherson Square stations will close Saturday and Sunday for ceiling tile improvement and other repairs, WTOP reported. Trains will also not pass through Metro Center station’s lower level.

Shuttle buses and express shuttles will be running to transport passengers between the closed stations, the WTOP reported. The total travel area is also a 1.5-mile walk.

The last orange and blue line trains will depart from stations earlier than usual because of the track work, WTOP reported.

The last orange line trains will leave Vienna about 30 minutes earlier at 11:49 p.m. Saturday and 9:52 p.m. Sunday and New Carrollton about 15 minutes earlier at 12:20 a.m. Saturday and 10:20 p.m. Sunday.

The final blue line train from Franconia-Springfield will depart about 30 minutes earlier at 11:55 p.m. Saturday and 9:55 p.m. Sunday. The final train from Largo Town Center will leave at 11:26 p.m. Saturday night, more than an hour earlier than the typical Saturday schedule, and 10:10 p.m. Sunday.
