Head from an off-beat play to a performance from a classic rock legend, then finish off the weekend at a luxurious rooftop pool party.
Life, Death & Everything In-Between
Out of the box art will be performed all around the city when the Capital Fringe Festival starts this weekend. As a part of the festival, Portsmouth Theater Lab will present a show about four characters trying to make sense of life. The dance and physical theatre 70-minute piece fits in with the festival’s edgy celebration of independent artists. For the rest of the festival, catch performances by local improv groups, rock performers and dancers from across the city.
Gallaudet University, 800 Florida Ave. NW. 8:15 p.m. $17.
For a classic and relaxed night of music, go to the Kennedy Center’s concert hall to experience the music of solo artist and one half of the famous folk duo Simon & Garfunkel. Get ready for the performance by listening to Art Garfunkel’s classic songs like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” or “The Sound Of Silence.”
The Kennedy Center, 2700 F St. NW. 8 p.m. $39.
