Police: Woman assaulted, robbed in E Street alley

A woman was assaulted and robbed Tuesday in an alley next to the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and State Plaza Hotel on E Street, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report.

At about 9 p.m., the subject came up behind the woman and grabbed her breasts under her clothes before pulling off her bra and attempting to pull down her pants. The suspect ripped the woman’s pants before taking her property and fleeing, according to the report.

The individual took a wristlet, $40 in cash, a Texas driver’s license, SmarTrip Card and a lace bra, according to the report.

Police cited the subject for assault with the intent to commit first degree sexual abuse and robbery.
