Person arrested for possessing pills, white substance

A person was arrested for possessing 15 Xanax pills and a “white powdery substance” in Thurston Hall Thursday, according to a public incident report from the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers on the scene contacted David Marquis, the GW administrator on call, to receive permission to enter the room for health and safety concerns after smelling burning marijuana at around 5:06 p.m. Marquis conducted a search of the room and the substances were seized, the report states.

The person was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. An administrator found the two bags of white substance in a brown suitcase next to a bed, according to the report the report said.
