Hatchet Publications Inc., the nonprofit corporation that publishes The GW Hatchet, is seeking a part-time business manager to oversee the organization’s sales, accounting and business operations.

What we want: A motivated, creative manager to help the newspaper’s business office keep pace with its thriving editorial operation. A talented salesperson who can draw advertisers to our award-winning newspaper and website, and help us look for new revenue streams to support our operations. A cheerleader who can encourage student sales reps to find advertising opportunities throughout the city. A business pro who can handle basic bookkeeping and budgeting for a small corporation. A curious and engaged individual who wants to see the inner workings of the changing media industry.

What we can offer: The chance to help secure the future of smart, ambitious, student journalism at GW. The freedom and flexibility to grow The Hatchet’s business operations. The opportunity to show off your creative solutions to the challenges facing media outlets of all types and sizes. A team of smart, enthusiastic and fun student journalists who produce a newspaper that rakes in awards year after year. A sunny office overlooking GW’s busy, diverse Foggy Bottom campus and a front-row seat to the opportunities a large university can offer.
