Assault on a Police Officer/ Unlawful Entry /Disorderly Conduct

A UPD officer observed an individual urinating in public. While attempting to place this individual under arrest, a UPD officer received an injury as a result of the individual’s resistance. EMeRG responded to the scene and transported the injured officer to GW Hospital for evaluation and treatment. The officer was released from the emergency room following minor treatment. The male subject was arrested by GW police and transported by MPD to the police station.

Simple Assault

UPD received information from MPD that an an individual not affiliated with the University was assaulted by two men while working at the farmers market. The victim reported to MPD that he stepped in to assist a patron that was being harassed by a group of young men. The victims sustained some minor injuries before MPD responded to the scene and took a report, according to MPD.

Threats in a Menacing Manner/Possession of an Open Container

A UPD officer on patrol saw an individual sleeping on a park bench who appeared to be intoxicated. The officer saw an open container of alcohol underneath the man’s backpack. When asked about the bottle of alcohol, the man began to approach on the officer in a threatening manner. The officer told the man to stop, which he did. The officer then issued the man a barred notice and sent him on his way.

Burglary

825 21st Street NW

A student reported hearing a loud noise coming from the area of 21st and I streets. UPD responded to the area and found that the basement window of the Steven Tailor shop was destroyed. Store staff reported to UPD that two laptops and the cash from the register were missing. MPD responded to the report.

– No identifiable suspect.

Theft/ Liquor Law Violation

Public Property on Campus (2300 Block of H Street NW)
9/17/2016 – 7:03 a.m.
Case closed

UPD responded to a report of an intoxicated student who did not pay his cab fare. EMeRG arrived on the scene and assessed the male student, who they then transported to GW Hospital for treatment.

Liquor Law Violation

Case closed

UPD officers saw two individuals with open containers of alcohol. The male students were assessed for intoxication and ordered to dispose of the alcohol on the scene.
