Police arrest Maryland man in GW parking attendant murder

This post was written by Hatchet reporter Max McCrory.

A man was charged with the murder and robbery of a GW parking attendant last week.

Police arrested George McGee II, 22, of Capital Heights, Md., on April 12. He is being held without bond, WTOP reported last week.

Melaku Abraha, who was a parking attendant in the Marvin Center for the past 13 years, suffered head injuries on March 28 from a robbery at the 200 block of South Alfred Street in Alexandria, Va. He was hospitalized and died four days later.

Prince Georges Police arrested McGee less than two weeks after the robbery, Prince Georges County Police Chief Earl Cook told WTOP.

“As always, I am impressed by the hard work of our Alexandria Police detectives and their unwavering commitment to the victim and his family,” Cook said to WTOP.
