Beach exhibit finds home in Dupont Underground

Artists are transforming the clear plastic balls from the National Building’s BEACH exhibit into a new installation in the Dupont Underground.

Nancy Hou and Josh de Sousa’s design won the Re-Ball! competition in March. Their design involves a reconfigurable assembly block system that visitors can alter after construction is complete, according to a press release.

“Our ultimate goal for the Dupont Underground is to take this space, which was built as public infrastructure…and to make it into a public amenity again, but as cultural infrastructure,” Craig Cook, the project manager said.
