If you’re in need of brunch with a side of lively entertainment, Level One is the place for you.

Walking down the stairs to the below-street-level venue, you feel like you’re entering a nightclub. Level One is loud, the people are rambunctious and the vibe is magnetic – the perfect combination for a midmorning adventure.

On Sundays from noon to 2 p.m., the restaurant takes on a whole new vibe for its “Disco Brunch” spectacle, where servers are dressed in drag and sing and dance for their customers. The enthusiasm and excitement of the performances, like those featuring drag queen Sherry Vine, complements the hearty food.

The brunch menu is filled with over-the-top choices like the truffle tots ($6), fluffy red velvet pancakes ($12) and chicken and waffles ($14) to complete a hearty meal. The menu also includes brunch classics like the fluffy cinnamon apple french toast ($12) and “eggs benny” with Canadian bacon and crispy french fries ($11) for a more traditional approach. The pancakes should definitely be on your order – they were perfectly fluffy and very filling.

For those over 21, the drink options are endless, with cocktails like “The Peppermint Patty” ($8) and bottomless mimosas ($15). Happy hour runs from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday to Thursday.
