Staff members did a routine room inspection over winter break, saw marijuana residue and reported it to the University Police Department. An administrative search yielded marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

12/27/15 – 4:28 a.m.
Case closed.

UPD officers on patrol saw a student attempting to enter a stairwell. The officers conducted a field sobriety test and determined that the student was intoxicated. The student was not transported to GW Hospital and was allowed to return home.

12/31/15 – 2:20 p.m.
Case closed.

An unaffiliated female was sitting in front of Dunkin’ Donuts when an unknown male subject approached her and touched her face. The subject came back three days later and identified by staff. UPD responded.

Destruction, Weapons, Drug and Liquor Law Violations

During a routine inspection over winter break, University staff saw an ammunition belt in plain view. UPD and the Metropolitan Police Department were notified and an administrative search was conducted. MPD seized the belt and concluded that the ammunition was not live and therefore harmless. A UPD investigation concluded that the ammo belt was a Halloween prop purchased at an Army surplus store. The room inspection also found marijuana, alcohol and graffiti on the walls.

A housekeeper reported to UPD that a large amount of money was missing from her coat pocket.

Case closed.

A University faculty member reported that she had been receiving harassing text messages from three different phone numbers. The faculty member declined to follow up with MPD.

Assault

Off Campus
1/12/16 – 2:34 a.m.
Case closed.

MPD notified UPD about two students who were involved in a physical altercation. One student was arrested and charged with simple assault. He was transported to the Second District police station by MPD.

A student reported to UPD that his bicycle was stolen from a parking meter outside of Starbucks.
