The management company of Clark Construction Group bought the prominent D.C. builder this week, the Washington Post reported Wednesday. Clark Enterprises, Inc. closed the deal weeks ago but released details this week.

The company has served as GW’s preferred construction company, managing building projects including the Science and Engineering Hall. Clark Construction is currently working on District House, a residence hall that is set to open next academic year, and also built FedEx Field, Nationals Park and the Verizon Center.

A. James Clark, the former chief executive officer of Clark Construction, served on the Board of Trustees for five years and was a trustee emeritus until his death last year.

Once the deal is finalized, Clark Construction and Clark Enterprises will continue to operate independently of each other according to The Post.
