Riding a 17-game win streak and leading the Atlantic 10 conference, the Colonials received their first Top 25 ranking in the Associated Press poll in seven years Monday.

GW advanced to a 19-2 overall record after toppling George Mason 87-52 in a Saturday game, where they controlled the floor with 43 rebounds and 17 steals.

Sophomore forward Caira Washington paced the Colonials with 15 points and eight rebounds, followed by junior forward Jonquel Jones who notched 14 points and seven boards. The bench also made contributions as senior guard Lauren Chase tallied 11 points and five assists.

GW remains undefeated in conference play and ranks second in the nation with a +13.7 rebounding margin.

The Colonials were also ranked No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches Poll released Tuesday. South Carolina tops both polls.

GW returns to action Thursday to host A-10 newcomer Davidson at 11 a.m.
