As your NCAA Tournament bracket starts to bust – maybe you should have put more faith in Harvard or Dayton today – the GW men’s basketball team is looking to bust the bracket of its well-known neighbor.
President Barack Obama picked GW to lose to the No. 8 seeded Tigers in Raleigh on Friday. Obama, who filled out the NCAA Tournament bracket for a sixth straight year, ultimately has Michigan State as the 2014 National Champions.
After hearing the news Tuesday night, head coach Mike Lonergan tweeted at Obama after he thought the President would support a local team.

Lonergan shortly followed with another tweet, this time to First Lady, Michelle Obama.

But Obama wasn’t the only notable figure to put the Colonials in the loss column against the Tigers. Washington Wizards star John Wall, Sports Illustrated writer Seth Davis and ESPN’s Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale all have Memphis advancing over GW.
There were a few celebrities and experts though that do have the Colonials moving on to Sunday’s third round game. Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin, CBS Sports’ Jeff Borzello, and, for what its worth, model Brooklyn Decker each had GW advancing Friday.
One trend that remained consistent across brackets was the fact that not one notable bracket predictor, whether they picked Memphis or GW, picked the winner of Friday’s game to advance to the Sweet 16.
The Colonials will try to add a red dash to the President’s bracket tomorrow against the Tigers in Raleigh, N.C. at 6:55 p.m.
