University cancels classes Tuesday because of snow

It’s a snow day. The University canceled Tuesday classes, events and activities at about 5 a.m.

Snow is expected to pile up to 5 to 8 inches starting at about 8 a.m. Temperatures will fall into the 20s, according to the Capital Weather Gang.

Designated staff must report to work and essential staff must check in with their supervisors, according to an InfoMail. Gelman Library remains open.

The federal government, D.C. Public Schools, American University and Howard University are closed. Georgetown University remained open as of 5:15 a.m.
