Assault/Destruction/Unlawful Entry

Case closed
A male student reported an unwanted female guest refused to leave his room. The University Police Department responded and learned that the student and guest assaulted one another, and there were two holes in the wall. The guest was not affiliated with GW and had been barred from campus. The Metropolitan Police Department was notified and both suspects were arrested.

Drug Law Violation

12/28/13 – 5-5:30 p.m.
Case closed
Amtrak Police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the lost luggage of GW student, and called UPD. The student’s suitcase was returned to him, but he was issued a criminal citation for misdemeanor drug possession and released.

Open case
The manager of the restaurant reported to UPD that someone broke into the restaurant and stole the cash register, which contained money and documents. MPD was also notified and filed a report.

1/6/14 – 11:50 a.m.
Case closed
UPD searched a room after responding to a report from GW Housing, which had conducted a room check. Officers discovered marijuana residue, drug paraphernalia and alcohol.

Theft From U.S. Mail

1/7/14 – Unknown time
Open case
UPD was notified by an individual that she found a purse belonging to a GW student and mailed it to the University’s lost and found. She said there was cash in the wallet when mailed but when the package arrived, there was no cash.

1/7/14 – 8:30 p.m.
Case closed
While responding to a room’s water leak, house staff reported that they found marijuana residue and drug paraphernalia.
-Referred for disciplinary action
