Simple Assault
7/06/13 – 5:59 a.m.
Ivory Tower
Case closed
Officers arrested a male summer intern living in Ivory Tower after witnesses reported he had shoved a woman, who was unaffiliated with GW, and dragged her by her hair. University Police Department officers responded to a report of loud yelling inside the intern’s room on the sixth floor. Metropolitan Police Department officers assisted with the investigation and processed the arrest.

7/24/13 – 10:30 p.m.
2200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue
Case closed
A GW staff member reported that he was hit in the head from behind after he left the District Commons restaurant to walk to the Metro station. He did not see who had hit him.

Extortion
7/25/13 – 10:41 a.m.
Off campus
An international graduate student reported he was scammed into wiring money to an anonymous caller, who claimed to represent the immigration office and threatened to deport him within 24 hours. UPD notified MPD and federal authorities.

Disorderly Conduct
8/05/13 – 4:59 a.m.
2300 block of I Street
Case closed
UPD officers observed a person defecating on a sidewalk. While talking to her, the officers suspected the subject was mentally ill and notified MPD to respond. An MPD crisis intervention officer determined no further action was required.

Lewd and Obscene Acts
8/07/13 – 10:45 a.m.
Academic Center
A female student reported seeing a male suspect exposing himself through a window in the Academic Center. Officers responded, but the suspect was gone upon their arrival.

Burglary/Unlawful Entry
8/11/13 – 8:50 p.m.
2200 block of H Street
Case closed
An officer discovered that someone had propped open a door in Duques Hall. UPD located the suspect of the unlawful entry, but he fled and a foot chase ensued. The suspect was eventually arrested near Munson Hall. A wide-screen TV – taken from Duques Hall – was found stashed behind Tompkins Hall.

Contempt of Court/Threats
8/13/13 – 11:10 p.m.
Case closed
A man who was barred from campus for an unlawful entry Aug. 11 was spotted by a UPD officer near Madison Hall. He was again arrested and during the process, threatened officers verbally.
