Pop singer Cyndi Lauper will perform at Alumni Weekend this September, the University confirmed Thursday.
The singer, known for her singles “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “True Colors,” as well as her brazen sense of style, has earned 14 Grammy nominations since her 1983 debut.
Lauper is also known for her fervent activism for gay rights, and co-founded the True Colors Fund, which aims to combat LGBT youth homelessness rates.
Past Alumni Weekend concert performers have included soul R&B group Earth, Wind & Fire, and funk performer Chuck Brown.
