Female freshman found after being reported missing

A freshman was found Sunday afternoon after being reported missing by her roommates Saturday night.

University and city police had launched a search for Wallis Nan, an international student, Associate Dean of Students Tim Miller said. He said at about 2:40 p.m. Sunday that she was found safe. Her roommates had reported her missing after she had not been seen since Thursday.

“We take every single one of these very seriously and want to do whatever we can to find the student,” Miller said before she was found. He said he could not comment as to where she was found for privacy reasons.

GW Ballroom sent an email to members Sunday at 1:49 p.m., asking individuals with information about Wallis – a member – to contact UPD. Miller said officials were working to gain access to Nan’s travel and other records to determine her whereabouts.
