Review: Gazuza Lounge

Visit Gazuza Lounge for ambiance and hookah

With its prime location, roomy deck and comforting atmosphere in Dupont Circle, the 21+ Gazuza Lounge is the ideal for a chill night or a date night.

Food choices at Gazuza are limited to decent sushi and dessert menus, and the service is not the greatest. But what the restaurant lacks in menu quality and service, it makes up for in ambiance and hookah offerings.

On most days, a live DJ performs house and trance mixes to boost the restaurant’s mellow mood. Paired with hookah and comfy chairs, it works wonders.

Your cheapest option is something from the sashimi list ($5-$6), but if you are looking for a more substantial meal, try one of their many sushi rolls ($11-$12), or a Maki roll ($6-$8).

In particular, I recommend trying the Tuna Tartare as a starter. Although not the cheapest item on the menu, it is one of the better ones.

After some appetizers, splurge and get your group one of their hookahs ($18). With flavors ranging from kiwi to mint, you will be sure to find something for everyone.

Along with its many hookah flavors, Gazuza Lounge also makes a mean martini for just $6 during happy hour, offered weekdays from 5 to 7 p.m.
